I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in ALDERSON WV where I ate at T & C Carry Out Restaurant and I saw a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.

I must admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
