I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in ALBUQUERQUE NM where I ate at Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and I saw an interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought some items of clothing.

I must say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found out some other interesting details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
