I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in ALBANY IN where I ate at Pizza King Restaurant & Delivery and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
