I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up eating by myself in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in AKRON OH where I ate at Sushi Katsu of Akron and I came across a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got some pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I found some interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
