I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in ADA OK where I ate at Schlotzskys Sandwich Restaurant and I read an interesting cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I discovered some interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
