I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in ABSECON NJ where I ate at Gourmet Italian Cuisine & Pizzeria and I read a really interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a couple pieces of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
