I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in ABILENE TX where I ate at Bullseye Cafe and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found out some more incredible facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
