I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in ABERDEEN NC where I ate at Macs Family Restaurant and I saw a really interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found out some other amazing facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
