I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in CHANTILLY VA where I ate at Kabobs Etc and I read a new cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found out some more amazing details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
