I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner alone in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in PITTSBURG KS where I ate at 5 05 and I read a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a few items of clothing.
I should say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found out some other incredible details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
