I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in SOUTH HADLEY MA where I ate at Hadleigh House and I came across a new cover story on bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found some more interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
