I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in WAUCONDA IL where I ate at Restaurante Dos Hermanos and I came across an interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found out some more incredible details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
