I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in OXFORD MA where I ate at Chef Huang and I came across a new piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a few basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
