I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in CICERO IL where I ate at Buena Vista Restaurant and I saw an interesting article about bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I found some other incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
