I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in MINNEAPOLIS MN where I ate at Athmanns Inn and I came across a new piece about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
