Bamboo Clothes HOUSTON

I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in HOUSTON TX where I ate at Jason's Deli - Central and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some other incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
