Bamboo Clothes HOMESTEAD

I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in HOMESTEAD FL where I ate at Casita Tejas Mexican Restaurant and I saw an interesting article about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a few pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found some other amazing facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
