I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in SPRINGFIELD MO where I ate at Cafe and I saw a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found some incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
